Tramps was the kind of Las Vegas place that made more sense at midnight than it did in daylight.
Located at Flamingo Road and Arville Street in the late 1980s, it was restaurant, bar, dance floor, neighborhood hangout, and occasional bad decision all rolled into one. It was not trying to be the fanciest room in town, and that was part of the appeal. Locals remember it as rough around the edges, unpredictable, and rarely boring.
This was before Vegas nightlife became velvet ropes, bottle service, and carefully engineered spectacle. You went out, ran into people you knew, stayed later than planned, and probably left with a story.
For the people who were there, Tramps was not really about the building. It was about a certain kind of Las Vegas night that does not exist anymore.
